Shared Living Providers welcome adults with developmental disabilities into their homes and lives, ensuring the stability, safety, health, and welfare of those individuals under their care.
The Shared Living Program offers individuals with disabilities an opportunity to live in the community within a family-like setting. These living arrangements offer supervision, while allowing the individual community opportunities for social and recreational involvement. Such living arrangements also ensure stability, safety, heath, and personal welfare, which are all important in the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Individuals Also Receive:
- 24-hour Case Management
- Family Support
- Community Integration
- Ongoing and Active Management of ISP Goals
- Confidentiality Assurance
- Human Rights Advocacy
There are many benefits of becoming a Provider within the Shared Living Program. Providers are able to work from home, while being offered competitive pay, vacation time, 24/7 emergency assistance, trainings to further their understanding and skill level regarding the population we serve, as well as respite relief. Respite staff are able to continue the quality of life offered by the homecare provider while they are away. They are also able to continue community supports, as well as assistance in skill building.
The Arc of Greater Plymouth is dedicated to providing the type of support necessary to enhance the individuals’ abilities for assuming as much responsibility over their own lives and personal well-being. We provide supports that allow these individuals to discover their own preferences regarding their lifestyle, affiliations, and activities. People receiving individual supports may live alone or with one or more roommates. The Arc of Greater Plymouths’ services have made a big difference in the lives of many people. If you or a loved one is interested in receiving support, please contact the Department of Developmental Services for a referral.
