THE ARC OF GREATER PLYMOUTH TO EXPAND SERVICES TO CAPE COD

PLYMOUTH, MA (9.16.19) – – The Arc of Greater Plymouth is pleased to announce that it has expanded its role as an affiliate of The Arc to include Upper Cape Cod through Hyannis, by agreement with The Arc of Massachusetts. The Arc of Greater Plymouth provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism and brain injuries, in Greater Plymouth County and now over the bridge through Hyannis.

“The Arc has a rich heritage of providing quality services, and through this development our organization has the opportunity to reach even more people with disabilities and their families,” said Mary Valachovic, Executive Director of The Arc of Greater Plymouth. The Arc of Greater Plymouth will be announcing a new organization identity in the coming months –including a new name and website.

People supported by The Arc receive highly individualized services through programs such as: Adult Family Care, Agency with Choice, Individualized Home Support, Social Recreational Programs, Autism Services, Shared Living, Supported Employment, Community Based Day Supports, Family Support and Acquired Brain Injury Residential Services.

A local chapter of both The Arc of Massachusetts and The Arc of the United States, The Arc of Greater Plymouth was established in 1966 by a group of parents that wanted better lives for their children. Since that time, The Arc of Greater Plymouth has grown steadily through new service development and expansion throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. The Arc of Greater Plymouth empowers and supports people with disabilities and their families, to belong, contribute and thrive.
